A little fill for the above prompt. Any idea of seriousness went out the window when my mind equated ‘shimmering powder’ with ‘glitter’.

“I’ve done it!”
Julian startled awake at the triumphant shriek, rolling off of the sofa to land on the floor with a thud and a groan.
“Jules!” Footsteps thundered down the hallway, for such a slight man, Linden had one hell of a heavy step. “I did it! Jules?”
Julian shifted just enough to get an arm out from under him to wave at the excited Witch practically vibrating in the doorway.
“Why are you on the floor? Did you fall off again?”
Ignoring the question entirely, Julian levered himself back onto the sofa, “What have you done?”
Linden grinned, dropping down next to Julian to snuggle into his side, “My darling dearest undead bloodsucker, I’ve perfected your costume for Simon’s party!”
Nose buried in Linden’s hair, taking in the scents of warm-blooded human, citrus shampoo, and the sea breeze hints of Linden’s magic, Julian paused. “Costume? What party?”
“Simon’s party,” Linden playfully shoved at Julian’s chest, tutting at his bad memory. “I told you about it weeks ago.”
Julian frowned, wracking his brain. “Is this the tacky and stereotype themed one?”
“You do remember!” Linden beamed.
Julian shrugged, “Vaguely.”
“That’s close enough for me,” Linden said, nuzzling his nose against Julian’s cheek.
“So what are we going as?” Julian asked, head dropping back on the sofa, tone clearly long suffering.
“Well since we’re meant to be tacky stereotypes, I’m going as the Wicked Witch of the West, and you’re going as sparkly Twilight.”
“Sparkly…?” Julian lifted his head, accusing finger levelled at Linden. “I am not Pritt Sticking glitter to my body.”
Linden frowned, wrapping his fingers around Julian’s pointed one and shaking it slightly. “But that’s what I’ve figured out! I can get the glitter to stick without having to smear you in glue first.”
“I’m not getting out of this am I?”
“Nope.”

“Ready?”
Sighing the sigh of the long suffering, Julian looked down at the face he loved dearly. A single, brisk nod had Linden grinning, teeth startlingly white against the green face paint.
“Ok,” tipping the shining contents of an old jam jar into his hand, Linden crouched down. “Brace yourself, this might tickle.”
Holding his cupped hands before him, Linden called up a slight swirling breeze. Just strong enough to carry the shimmering, bespelled powder when he gently blew it from his hands.
The pair of them watched as the swirl of wind wound around Julian’s ankles first, climbing his legs, and wrapping around his chest. Not a single inch of skin was left untouched by the caressing breeze.
Linden grinned at the finished product.
Julian frowned down at his now glittery body, catching the light everyway he turned. Linden’s glitter wasn’t uncomfortable though, it felt like a gossamer silk was draped over his skin.
“You look absolutely radiant, my fangy lover boy,” Linden cooed, finally bouncing up to Julian and running a hand down his arm. “And look, no unwanted glitter spreading! Unless you want to spread it of course.”
“What?”
“I may have added a little extra something to the sticking spell.”
“Oh?”
“Yeah. I know you’re not a huge fan of these types of gatherings, so if anyone annoys you too much tonight just touch them, and they’ll be finding glitter in unfortunate places for months.”
“You evil little genius,” Julian grinned, pulling Lindon into his sparkling arms. “I do so love your devious mind.”
“I love you too,” stealing a quick kiss, Linden brushed his thumb over Julian’s lower lip, wiping away the smear of green he’d left there. “Now come along, my sparkly Lord of Darkness, it’s time to spread some glittery mayhem.”

If you like anything I’ve written, and feel like chucking some spare change my way like I’m some sort of street artist with an open guitar case before me, I’d be eternally grateful.
If that’s not your thing, then no worries, just ignore the red button.
